Post kali ni I'm sure ramai yang nanti-nantikan. Sebab apa? Well let's just say, there are more ways to get into your dream career than you think you have. So apa tunggu lagi, let's get into it!

Of course benda paling basic adalah kena lepas syarat requirement DVM UPM.

Untuk DKHP, syarat lepas dia adalah CGPA 3.75 above dan MUET Band 3+

*The T20/Private this route is for students with a household income of more than RM10k/month and is like; let's say you went to a private university/international school; its a very special case kind of thing. You still have to pass basic requirements + go for an interview but in lesser competition maybe like 20-30 people average.

The process is like T20 apply through UPM Education Training (UPMET), go through an interview and if you got then you'll be informed by UPMET.

+ it is also a route for non-Malaysians who are studying abroad and want to study in UPM for vet.

Ideally, this is what we want. But sometimes luck is not on our side... So there are several backup plans, alternative routes to get into DVM.

Its somewhat like this. without the CUCMS

Referring to the number on the right side of the diagram, I will explain it one by one

Mohon melalui UPU dan tunggu untuk interview, sediakan surat akuan bergraduat. Bagi pelajar DKHP it is hard to get right after 2nd Internship, you have to wait for rayuan dibuka dan kepilkan surat akuan bergraduat. Refer dengan senior okay tentang ni untuk DKHP.
To other graduates, you can just apply by UPU

3. Indonesia Route**

Institut Pertanian Bogor

You have 2 chances to apply every year. They will have an entrance exam at specific places and if you did well, you can get into a 1-year program of foundation before the real program starts.

Now, I've only been informed that there are certain ways to get into DVM in Indonesia. You have to go through their agencies. My friends shared with me the agency that she contacted to get to Indonesia. Well, there are 3 universities you can go try to apply for Veterinary Medicine in Indonesia.

1 - Institut Pertanian Bogor, IPB

2 - Gajah Mada University

3 - Airlangga University, UNAIR

She said, "Belakang perpustakaan IPB, tempat ni memang macam UPMKB, sunyi dan rasa kampung tapi best la bagi siapa yang minat"

4. Wait a Year and repeat

I guess if it comes down to it, and left with no options.. then I think wait for other opportunities and the next intake would be wiser. You can work at the moment in a related field since for DKHP, the longer you work in an animal-related field, the lower your CGPA requirements to get into DVM. It ain't all bad. Doesn't mean you start later than the others mean that you are dumb. No, people have the right to study and do their things at their own pace.

If you ask me, "if I take another course and try and apply for DVM next year, will I be accepted?"

No, you can't get into vet from other courses. Other courses to other courses are fine BUT from other courses TO VET is NOT going to work! There are many seniors that have been succeeded in changing courses. But it does not work for vet, unfortunately. Sometimes, we are being pressed down a lot and many times. And we expect many things to go our way but there will be a lot of barriers that oppose us. What's important is not to lose sight of who we are and what we aim to be. [9/6/2021] - #01

Now I'm in the middle of my 8th semester and looking at it back; it is okay if you didn't manage to get into vet cause being a vet doesn't mean everything and you can always start fresh on something else. I might be having a mid-life crisis at the moment 😔🤲 as MCO struck with all these ODL. But one thing I know is that your mental health and wellbeing are much more important than your academic achievement (just throwing my shades)

Although a bit of struggle that I'm currently stuck in a conundrum of a cycle that I spent a lot of my youth already pursuing a degree and I couldn't afford for an extension but then I'm so exhausted of studying non-stop from my diploma days. At this rate imma just grad old 👨‍🦳.

But if you really want to be a vet, then, by all means, we need more people like you that are passionate about this field and the ones that really wanna practice and become a clinician.
